"Write what you know." Mark Twain said it, so it's got to be sound advice, right? But what does it mean? Turns out after a google search that I'm not the only one searching for that answer. Since I've never written anything that has amounted to much, I feel like my interpretation would be lacking. I can however, put my filter on as I pass on what I think might be valuable pieces from others who have pondered before me...

Mr. Teacher told us to "Write what we know" in English class in 8th grade. It has taken 19 years for the lesson to sink in, but now that it is starting to, I feel like the stories inside me are a fire building up its momentum ready to explode into brilliant fireworks onto the page! A dramatic description, to be sure... but I'm just tellin' ya what I know!
